In 2022-23, CIS-VA supported its network of affiliates by:
Funneling Resources
- Providing $2,483,000 in pass-through funds to affiliates
- Administering $5M in Community School Funds awarded by the VDOE to support new and expanded programming in the network
- Administering Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Funding to support CIS of Petersburg
- Securing and administering $100,000 from Share Our Strength for network-wide food security initiatives
Driving Network Growth
- Engaging in strategic funding discussions to help guide the next phase of expansion
- Growing staff to support expansion in existing affiliates and new regions
Delivering Network Support
- Hosting a two-day CIS-VA Network Summit, convening more than 130 network staff for learning and connection
- Conducting affiliate-specific trainings across the network
- Providing customized data and evaluation support and training
- Facilitating cross-affiliate collaboration
- Introducing a refined Emerging Leaders Fellowship to foster leadership development and staff retention in affiliate network
- Publishing monthly e-newsletter focused on learning and professional development for site coordinators
- Implementing a new tool to identify social-emotional learning needs and measure outcomes
