Communities In Schools of Chesterfield is buzzing with excitement to host the inaugural Adult Spelling Bee Extravaganza on May 2nd. It will be an innovative fundraiser that reimagines the traditional gala as a high-energy, cocktail-style competition at Wrexham Hall. Hosted by WTVR CBS 6’s Jon Burkett, this 21+ event swaps stiff formal seating for a "bar trivia" vibe where teams of four compete for bragging rights using whiteboards—all while guests enjoy an open bar, signature cocktails, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. The evening will also feature interactive experience stations, a curated auction, and playful moments throughout the venue designed to keep guests engaged between rounds. To make this night truly "un-bee-lievable," their team is inviting the community to get involved by snagging early-bee tickets before the official public launch, registering a competitive team, or connecting CIS of Chesterfield with local leaders and personalities for their high-profile Celebrity Round. Whether folks are spelling on stage or cheering from the crowd, every contribution helps CIS of Chesterfield surround students with a community of support.
